Simmons Associates were commissioned by The Upham Group to provide a full design service for the refurbishment of the former Inn on the Hill opposite Haslemere Station.
Our brief was to provide additional bedrooms and trading areas by designing an eye catching extension to the existing Victorian hotel.
The client requirement was to design an all day operation with a French Brasserie feel. We took this idea and enhanced it with a railway theme as the building is directly opposite the Station.
The property was also short on parking and would require additional spaces due to the increase in bedrooms and trading area.
Although the site area was generous, design was complicated because of the steeply sloping site.
As well as a full refurbishment of the existing building our design provided eight additional bedrooms, a café area with exterior patio areas, additional bar space, landscaping and additional parking for 24 cars.
